Pomeranian Puppy Health Guarantee

Old Pine provides veterinary records and written health protection for each puppy. This page summarizes the process in plain language. The signed purchase agreement and separate notice of buyer rights contain the complete terms, deadlines, and financial limits. Nothing on this page reduces rights provided by applicable law.

Health Protection at a Glance

• A licensed veterinarian examines the puppy before homecoming.
• Veterinary and care records are provided at transfer.
• The buyer arranges an examination by a licensed veterinarian within three (3) business days and sends Old Pine the report within three (3) business days of that visit.
• Supplemental hereditary and congenital coverage continues through the puppy’s second birthday, subject to the signed agreement.
• Health concerns should be reported promptly. Emergency veterinary care should not be delayed while contacting Old Pine.

Before Your Puppy Goes Home

Before transfer, the puppy receives a veterinary physical examination, microchip, and vaccinations and deworming appropriate for the puppy’s age and veterinary plan. The going-home records include applicable veterinary health documents, vaccination and deworming information, microchip details, and applicable registration documents.

If the pre-departure examination identifies a concern that makes travel or transfer inappropriate, Old Pine will discuss postponement and any remedies available under the written agreement and applicable law.

Your Initial Veterinary Visit

The buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within three (3) business days after taking possession. A copy of the examination record must be sent to Old Pine within three (3) business days after the visit. This visit documents the puppy’s condition at homecoming and gives your veterinarian an opportunity to establish an ongoing care plan.

Bring the puppy’s vaccination and deworming record to the appointment. Your veterinarian should determine the timing of future vaccines, parasite prevention, nutrition, and other care based on the puppy’s age, medical history, and individual needs.

Supplemental Coverage Through the Second Birthday

Subject to the signed agreement, Old Pine provides supplemental coverage for a life-threatening or severely disabling hereditary or congenital condition confirmed in writing by a licensed veterinarian before the puppy’s second birthday. Examples may include a severe congenital heart defect, an inherited eye condition causing functional blindness, or grade IV patellar luxation requiring surgery when the veterinarian identifies the condition as hereditary or congenital.

The written diagnosis must identify the condition, explain its clinical significance, and include the records reasonably needed to evaluate the claim. The signed agreement controls the scope of this supplemental coverage.

Buyer Remedies

When a licensed veterinarian documents a qualifying pre-existing illness or qualifying congenital or hereditary condition within the applicable period, the family may have the right to choose among the following remedies, subject to the required notice and applicable law:

• Return the puppy for a refund of the purchase price, together with eligible veterinary expenses.
• Return the puppy and choose a replacement puppy of equivalent value, when available, together with eligible veterinary expenses.
• Keep the puppy and receive reimbursement for eligible veterinary expenses up to the applicable limit.

If the puppy dies from a qualifying condition and the required written veterinary documentation is supplied, an available remedy may include a refund or an equivalent-value replacement, together with eligible diagnostic and treatment expenses. The separate notice of buyer rights explains the applicable deadlines, documentation requirements, and financial limits.

What We Need From You

• Complete the initial veterinary examination and send the report within the time stated above.
• Follow the care plan recommended by your licensed veterinarian.
• Provide appropriate nutrition, maintain a healthy body condition, and arrange routine preventive care.
• Keep veterinary records, examination notes, diagnostic reports, and itemized invoices related to a claim.
• Provide humane care and a safe home environment.
• Notify Old Pine promptly when a veterinarian identifies a potentially qualifying concern.

Care That Supports a Young Pomeranian

• Walking: A well-fitted harness can reduce pressure on the neck during leash walks.
• Joint safety: Reduce repeated jumps from beds, sofas, and other elevated surfaces. Ramps, pet steps, and non-slip surfaces may help.
• Feeding: Follow a consistent feeding schedule. Contact a veterinarian promptly if a young puppy becomes weak, unusually sleepy, unsteady, or trembles.
• Coat care: Brush and comb regularly to prevent matting. Ask a qualified groomer or veterinarian before choosing a very close clip.

What the Supplemental Guarantee Does Not Cover

Unless the signed agreement or applicable law provides otherwise, the supplemental guarantee does not cover:

• Routine or elective veterinary costs, including spaying, neutering, routine dental care, and preventive care.
• Cosmetic traits and adult characteristics such as final size, coat color, coat density, ear carriage, minor bite variation, or breeding performance.
• Injuries or conditions caused by accidents, unsafe handling, environmental exposure, or management after transfer.
• Conditions acquired after transfer unless they qualify for a remedy under applicable law.
• Problems caused or materially aggravated by neglect, failure to obtain reasonable veterinary care, or breeding contrary to the written agreement.

These supplemental exclusions do not reduce rights that applicable law does not allow a seller to waive.

If a Health Concern Arises

1. Seek prompt evaluation and follow the treating veterinarian’s immediate care instructions.
2. Notify Old Pine as soon as reasonably possible and no later than the deadline stated in the signed agreement or required notice.
3. Provide the veterinarian’s written diagnosis, relevant medical records, diagnostic results, and itemized invoices.
4. Where permitted, Old Pine may request a second veterinary opinion at Old Pine’s expense.
5. Consult Old Pine before a non-emergency irreversible procedure related to a claim when time permits. Do not delay emergency treatment.
